Government statistics reveal 1,602 women in Northern Ireland were receiving help for alcohol or drug addictions last year. Of these, 130 were aged under 18.
When you consider that for every person in addiction 4-6 family members are profoundly impacted, the true scale of the problem becomes apparent.

Irish Times article which highlights the shocking fact that one in four deaths in young men aged 15 to 34 is due to alcohol.
As The Health Research Board’s senior director, Dr Suzi Lyons pointed out "What we cannot do is estimate the social cost of premature mortality from alcohol, the detrimental effect on the family and the burden on society.”

A wonderful team of 14 Vodafone Ireland employees participated in the recent Global Biking Initiative to raise funds for RISE. They joined 300 others and cycled 520kms from Amsterdam to Dusseldorf in 5 days.
